West Coast Self Storage ALERT!
WARNING: IF YOU VALUE YOUR POSSESSIONS
DO NOT USE WEST COAST SELF STORAGE!
I was a tenant at the San Jose location at 421 Lincoln Ave, San Jose, 95126 for six years.
During these six years as rates kept increasing, customer service only got worse due to reduced office hours and increased staff turnover.
During 2022 and 2023 there were two break-ins that I am aware of on the ground floor near my units. There may have been more break-ins. Management did not alert tenants nor did they do anything to increase security.
In early 2024 there were two serious burglaries by a crime gang that had compromised their lax and weak security.
On January 13, 2024 several 10 x 20 units were burglarized - a six figure loss.
West Coast Self Storage did nothing to increase security.
Another serious burglary by the same gang occurred on February 17, 2024 - also a six figure loss.
By early April 2024 the San Jose Police Department investigated the situation at West Coast Self Storage and arrested several perpetrators of the burglaries (see story below).
From NBC Bay Area News, April 2, 2024:

At the end of this report NBC Bay Area News stated:
"West Coast Self Storage declined to comment on the case"
From San Jose Police Department, April 2, 2024:
"SJPD Arrests Four Suspects Responsible for Storage Unit Burglaries"

West Coast Self Storage made no changes to the security of the San Jose location on Lincoln Ave in spite of these events--no increased security, no increased staffing, no upgraded cameras. Also they never notified tenants of these serious break-ins where tenants lost hundreds of thousands of dollars of valuables and possessions.
IF YOU VALUE YOUR POSSESSIONS
DO NOT USE WEST COAST SELF STORAGE!
